Pastel Nativity

Wishing you a wonderful and blessed Christmas. I painted this years ago and thought I would take a pic of it and post it before it gets packed away for the year. MERRY CHRISTMAS. d

Is it over yet? (Santa)

This weeks challenge was the gifts on the New Arrival cartridge. I cut them starting at 3 inches, up to 7 inches and layered them around this Santa. My hubby works retail and I painted this for him a few years back. Working retail during the holidays means, looooooooooooong hours and unfortunately, it also includes, some cranky customers! tfl.........d

Pillowcases for the boys

Each month I would make pillowcases for my three grandsons, for the holiday of that month. Now they are asking for pillowcases of movies they like. The request was for Wall E and Batman. I made Halloween and Thanksgiving for our new little boy that is due in March. I better go buy some Christmas fabric while it is still available and get his December one done..........even though he won't be in a big boy bed for about two years! tfl...............d

Doggie treats

This weeks challenge was Spot from the Paper Pups cartridge. I made a box of treats for my grand-doggies. The box is from Regina's Cutting Cafe site and I used a heart shape Colluzzle for the window on the box.

Christmas Stocking

Did you ever buy cardstock/paper............almost finish your project and need ONE more piece? Well, I have done that more than once, but, this time I did it twice! I had to go back to the Scrapbook store two more times because I needed ONE more sheet of this cardstock, twice! Originally, I only bought it for the stocking, ran short by one piece, went back and bought it, then decided to use it as one of the layers, and had to go back again. Good thing the price of gas has gone down. Anyway, this stocking is a Sizzix die. I think little jingle bells would be so cute haning from the cuff, but, thought about the cost of mailing a batch of these guys out and decided to try something flatter. I bought some red sequins at Michaels today (may as well, go there since I was using gas to go to the scrapbook store for the ONE piece of cardstock). I have never used sequins on a card before. Added a little rhinestone bling in the center. The circle sentiment is from Regina's Cutting Cafe' site...http://reginascutterdesigns.blogspot.com/

All hearts come home for Christmas

This weeks challenge was the tree on the Tags Bags and Boxes cartridge. I added a top layer to the tree so that I could run it through my Cuttlebug with the swirls folder, added some Martha Stewart snow glitter (again), and some rhinestone bling. Martha Stewart snowflake punch and the Sizzix heart die. I couldn't get a good photo of this one.............the acetate and the shred inside kept catching a glare. I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving and now it's time to put up the tree!

Card Class #2

I guess I shouldn't call this card class in December because I realized that we aren't making any cards! The design on the left was found on Two Peas site. It's a gift card holder. The red flowers are found in a tin in the bridal section of Michaels. I had to use gold Stickles for the center because they ripped when I tried to add a brad to the center . I also wanted to try a sour cream container. I hadn't made any yet, and decided to give it a whirl. My sweet friend, Regina has some darling, downloadables on her new site, and I used THE STOCKINGS WERE HUNG circle from her site. Check out her site, you will find some fun things to play with there!

Card Class #1

These are two of the four items we will be making in card class in December. I love the Martha Stewart Snow Glitter and had to use it again on this tag. I added some Stickles to the penguin's hat, and to the reinforcement on the hole in the tag. Those things sure come in handy when you don't have the correct sized eyelet :)
The pillow box is cut out with a Biz die from Stampin Up. I wanted a silver ring for the snowflake and used some Avery office type tags and covered up the hole with a punched circle of patterned paper. Filled it with Hershey kisses, YUM!

Snow glitter tree.

The challenge for the week was the tree cut from the Stretch Your Imagination cartridge. We were to make it look "Christmasy". I used the Martha Stewart border punch with gold cardstock. I Cuttlebugged the white cardstock with the dot folder, (it reminded me of snow falling). Added some gold ink to the tree and Martha Stewart snow glitter to the tree and the snow mound. I think I am really going to like playing with this stuff! I played with a few different glues for the snow glitter and found that an old standby worked just fine.......Aleene's Tacky Glue. I like the course texture of this snow glitter and can't wait to play with it again!

Happy Fall

Simple, simple, simple card for card class. But, I did finally remember to drag out my Fastenator and use it to attach the leaf to the card. I'm not sure why I never think to use that thing! Maybe because the staples have a tendency to go on crooked!

Pumpkins

The second card that I will be teaching tomorrow. Once again, I used a Whippersnapper stamp! A little metal leaf brad, some stickles on the stars (which don't show well in this pic) and some skittles. Can you beleive I ran out of the brown cardstock when I was making up the kits and I need ONE more sheet. I have to drive to the scrapbook store for ONE piece of cardstock! I better buy some extra things while I am in there to make up for the price of gas, don't ya think? (grin)

JOY

This weeks challenge was to use a Doodlebat or Font from the Scrapnfonts website.........http://www.scrapnfonts.com/ They were so generous and gave us some fonts and dingbats to play with. I used two of the snowflakes as a border and the Joy tag from the Tis The Season set. This adds a whole new dimension in cardmaking! Love it! The girls on the team did some fun things with this challenge, go take a peek.

Sparkly tree

This weeks challenge was the tree card on the Joys of the Season cartridge. I ran the tree through the Cuttlebug swiss dots embossing folder and then added Stickles to the dots and some mini skittles. My Windows Picture Gallery isn't letting me crop pics anymore, not sure why? I'll have to try to figure that out, or else take REALLY close pics of the cards!

Halloween in California

Amysangels2 on the Cricut site RAK'd this drippy goo punch! Grammat won and she gave it to me! These are two very generous and kind ladies. THANK YOU!

I had a dream about using this punch on a candy corn (I know................pathetic that I dream about cardmaking), and when I woke up, I thought........candy corn doesn't melt, I can't use this punch on a candy corn......but..........it is in the low 90's here in southern California, so, my candy corn is melting!

Disney dollars

My little chemo buddy is coming from Utah with her family to Disneyland this week. She will be celebrating her birthday at the end of the week, so, I bought her some Disney dollars to spend while she is here. I made her this little holder to keep them in. I hope she has a "micey" nice time while she is here :)

She is an amazing girl, and I am so excited to spend time with her! I can't beleive she will be 14 already!

Halloween pop up

I saw this idea for a pop up card on the Cricut website and now I cannot find it again. I want to give credit to the stamper who posted it, so, I apologize to her and hope to find it and let you know who it was. I taught this card to the ladies at church today. I got the dimentions for the size and score lines from Splitcoast.

The Ghost and headstone are Cricut. The bat is a Quickutz die, the moon is a circle punch that was cut a second time to get the shape, the fence is a Martha Stewart border punch and the pumpkin is also a Martha Stewart punch. The tag slides back down into the base and fits into an A2 envy.

Halloween treat bag

I made this bag with the Sizzix Bigz scalloped card die. Instead of folding it into a card, I scored two more lines at the bottom and turned it into a treat bag. I cut a circle out of the front of the card, added a frame with black cardstock and an acetate window. I am going to teach this at the card class at church and couldn't find enough large eyelets, so, I just used a black marker and colored some regular paper reinforcements. I figured the treat bag will be torn apart to get to the candy anway :)

CD Case Calendar

This weeks challenge was the Home from the Christmas Cheer cartridge. I turned mine into a gingerbread house. I downloaded this calendar from the Amuse website. The proceeds go to Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. The calendars come in three different size formats that you download. The calendar is placed in an empty CD case with the middle removed. After you remove the middle, (the part that the CD sits in) you take the case apart, flip the lid around and when you put it back together it sits at an angle and the calendar page slides in. Quick and easy! These would make fun christmas gifts. The top scalloped border is a Fiskars border punch. The ginger people are from Paper Dolls............aren't they cute?

My thoughts and prayers

So many people that I care about are having a tough time right now. They are all in my prayers.

Have a cherry good day!

We will be making this card in the card class at church next week. The inside verse sais, Have a cherry good day. This bowl of cherries stamp is made by Whipper Snapper. I think they have some pretty fun stamps! I used a rub-on word........thinking of you............. at the bottom and it doesn't really show up very well. I guess the red dot paper is too busy and too dark. Oh well, I will just pretend that I wanted the words to look "subtle"..............and live with it!

Cakebox-BOO

I have been making and mailing lots of cards this week and forgot to take pics of any of them, so, I can't post them here. Not sure what I was thinking, but, I guess I was just in a hurry to get them to the post office and on their way. This weeks challenge was the cakebox from Tags Bags and Boxes. Everyone did such a wonderful job on this challenge, I love them all! I used some Martha Stewart punches on this one. The fence, pumpkins, spider web, and tag are all from Martha. I need to get the card samples made for next weeks card class at church. Maybe I will remember to take pics this week.

Friendship

I sent this card off to a sweet friend a few days ago. I have been wanting to use this stamp with hearts instead of balloons. I found the perfect word stamp to use and had to stamp this without the balloons. I hope she likes it :)

Birthday wishes

This weeks challenge was the train from the New Arrival cartridge. Wow...........this card has a ton of little parts and pieces. I made it for a very early birthday card for my grandson (I hope I remember I made it when his birthday rolls around). He loves Pluto, so, I had to add Pluto to the train. This train cut has so many possibilities.

Butterfly bling

This butterfly is from the Tear Drop cartridge. I used some stickles on the dots in the paper and some rhinestones on the antennae. I love this Threading Water punch......................it makes such a fun border.

Little Ballerina

Another Whipper Snapper stamp. This little ballerina was too cute to pass up. I added Stickles to her outfit and a little rhinestone "bling" to her headband. Still lovin' this Bigz die.

Back to basics

I miss coloring! I have been making so many cards with embelishments and have not been stamping or coloring much. Today was the day. I wanted to sit and work on a card, quietly, so that my poor doggie could lay by me and get some rest. She has had a traumatic time at the vet for a few days. I saw this little girl stamp and could not pass her up! She is so darn cute. She was made by Whipper Snapper. The scallop circle is a revolution die and the tag punch is Martha Stewart ( I sure use that little tag a lot!). I put crystal lacquer on her shoes to make them look like patent leather and also on the glass vase.

Banner

The challenge for the week is the banner on the Celebrations cartridge. Everyone did such a cute job with their banners on the BBTB site. I decided to use it as a side hinge instead. I used crystal lacquer on the glass of the jar and a silver metallic pen for the rim. Just an everyday card with a simple look.

Lil elephant

My nephew's wife had a baby boy on Saturday. Now my sister has NINE grandsons! An entire baseball team! She has two granddaughters, but, they are definitely outnumbered by the boys.

This lil elephant is from the Zoobaloo cartridge. I used the threading water punch for the scallop borders and a Revolution scallop circle die.

Bigz-again

Just playing around with my new Sizzix Bigz die. I love this die! I used plain, pink cardstock, but, it looked too plain, so I used a Judith dowel stamp and Versamark and added a little flower to the background. Martha Stewart tag punch, and Hero Arts, Happy Birthday stamp.

Sizzix Bigz

This card was made with one of the new Sizzix bigz dies. Although I love this scalloped card die, I think they blew it! It is about 1/4" too big to fit into an A2 envelope. I think they could have thought that one out a little better! I love scallops and I will definitely be using this die often, but, I think I will need to make custom envys for this one.

Little grasshopper

This weeks challenge was the grasshopper on the Stretch Your Imagination cartridge. Isn't he a cute, chubby, little guy? He was perfect for lime green and pink..........one of my favorite color combos.

Little blue fish

A simple card for my little grandson. He had the lead in his kindergarten play! He was little blue fish. The play was adorable, and so was he! (his little girlfriend had the female lead.......she was rainbow fish!) The fish is a new Sizzlet die that I bought yesterday just for his card. Had to keep the card simple.............it's for a kindergartner :)

With Sympathy

This Sympathy card is for a sweet friend. I find Sympathy cards the hardest cards to make. I want the card to be respectful and appropriate. Most of the time, I just buy one instead of making it, for these reasons.

Hooters! Breast Cancer card.

This card is for a friend who recently finished reconstructive surgery after breast cancer. The owl is from the Cricut, Happily Ever After cartridge. Isn't this the cutest owl ever?

Tag/pocket

This weeks challenge was to use the wreath on Joys of the Season Cricut cartridge. I put the wreath on a tag and made a tag pocket for the tag to slide into. The tag is from a Sizzix die. It has been awhile since I stitched on a card, so, I stiched the pocket together. I love this paper, it is double sided and so fun and cheery.

Feel better

This card took on a life of it's own. I had a completely different sketch in mind when I started working on it. The inside of the card is posted below. I always wondered what I would do with a green flower, but, it worked for this card.

I had to try out this new punch.

It took me a while to figure this punch out, but, once I did, I loved it. Next time I will space the flowers farther apart so that the strip will go from top to bottom of the card, but, I only only had a small scrap piece of this cardstock to work with. I would have had to cut one of the flowers in half to get it to work. Oh well, live and learn! I love how the flowers "pop" out when you open the card.

All roads lead to somewhere

I love this little VW stamp. (I had to add a Mickey antenna ball!). I think this little saying is so sweet.

edit feature?

I don't know if there is an edit feature when you blog! I do know how to spell Martha Stewart, even though it is spelled wrong on the post below!

Turtle birthday card

This weeks challenge was the card feature from the Walk in My Garden cartridge. It was going to be a "late" birthday card (hence the turtle), but I changed my mind. The balloons are Quickutz and the scalloped border is a new Martha Steward border punch.

Popcorn box

This popcorn box was the Cricut challenge for the week. It is from the Tags Bags and Boxes cartridge. I think I may tuck a gift card inside.

I'm finally back!

I finally sat down at my craft desk (after I cleared off a pile of rubble) and made something for the BBTB weekly challenge! It sure felt good to create again. I was beginning to think the surgeon removed my creativity while he was in there. Yikes! Every year Bill and I do the Revlon Run/Walk for womens cancer. (of course we walk...........no way do we run), It is held the day before Mothers day at the L.A. Colisseum. This shoe was made with the Cricut My Community cartridge. I used the new Cuttlebug swiss dot embossing folder for the sole of the shoe. This shoe is very sparkly in person!

Cricut lunchbag

I NEED a rubber stamp fix! I need a trip to the rubber stamp store soon! I can't wait to be able to drive again. Until then, I will just post this pic of a bag I made awhile ago with my Cricut. It is made with the Tags Bags and Boxes cartridge. I made a window in the bag and added a JoAnns gift card inside the see through pocket. I hope the surgeon didn't remove my creativity because I sure don't feel very creative right now. Maybe a trip to the stamp store will be the medicine I need !

Too early for Easter?

I love this Whipper Snapper stamp! It's a little early for an Easter card, but, I had to get this card made before my surgery next week. I have been dying to play with this stamp and couldn't wait until Easter time! The eggs are QuicKutz and the photo corner is from the Cricut Jasmine cartridge. Aren't these the cutest bunnies?

Another oldie......

Another card that I made awhile ago...........I really need to start stamping again!

My Mickey man!

Did you know that there is a fish called a Mickey Mouse Platy? My grandson just got one. It is bright red/orange, and on it's tail there is a Mickey head!!!!!!!!! How did I not know about this? I NEED one of these fish! Of course, I will wait until my Beta fish goes off to fishy heaven, (and I'm not rushing him) BUT, when he goes..............I have to get a Mickey fish!

Put on your big girl pantiesand deal with it!

I made this card for a friend. This stamp cracked me up. I think I need to send this message to myself :)

Daisies

I'm going to post a few cards in the next few days, that I made a while ago, and loaded on to my computer. Until I am stamping again, I thought I would at least look like I am being productive!
I just love my Cuttlebug! I love the embossing folders, they are so fun to use.

Sunday, February 3, 2008

Hope

While I am re-couping from surgery, I thought I would post a few things I have made in the past. It may be a little while before I am stamping again, and I don't want my blog to get lonely :)
My sister wanted me to make this for her.

Heartfelt Wishes

I decided to make a simple card last night. This is what I came up with..........
